Associate Litigation and Collections Attorney Benjamin Mayer attended the University of South Alabama and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. After graduation, Benjamin owned and operated a retail musical instrument business and was a touring musician. Benjamin attended Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, from which he graduated in 2014. Benjamin was admitted to the Alabama State Bar and began his legal career representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. In 2019, Benjamin became licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has since utilized his background in science to represent inventors and entrepreneurs by drafting and prosecuting both utility and design patents for his clients in his capacity as a solo practitioner prior to joining Kent McPhail & Associates. Benjamin has also represented clients in trademark and copyright disputes. He has experience representing all manner of clients in both civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts.

When not practicing law, Benjamin enjoys continuing playing and creating music. Benjamin is an avid outdoorsman who also enjoys cooking and spending time with family. He prides himself on being a problem-solver with an eye for creative solutions. His clients include both individuals and corporate entities. Benjamin is licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Alabama and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
